1. Spanish language skills, or interest in learning spanish
2. Desire to improve the lives of children
3. Interest and knowledge in the art of organic gardening and permaculture
5. 6 month minimum committment required
Goal: To build flower sales, children's programs, medicinal plant and permaculture programs

The objectives of La Hortaliza are:
1. To teach basic skills pertaining to simple agriculture
a. Preparation of compost and soil
c. Preparation of vegetable gardens
d. Planting and caring for vegetables and potted plants
2. To garnish an income from sales for direct benefit to area children
3. Developement of an exemplary permaculture and medicinal plant branch of the garden to be used as a teaching tool to area families
