What is Entremundos?
EntreMundos - “Between Worlds” - is a unique grassroots organisation committed to the development of small and medium non-governmental organisations in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. The organisation is based in Quetzaltenango, the second largest city in Guatemala, and was founded in 2001.EntreMundos works to connect local community projects and skilled foreign and local volunteers to the Quetzaltenango area. EntreMundos maintains a web-site with listings of local organisations and projects, and hosts workshops and conferences on social and cultural themes. EntreMundos also publishes a free completely bilingual magazine, distributed nationally every two months. It includes articles of an educational or current-affairs nature, and offers classified ads free-of-charge for organisations seeking volunteer assistance. EntreMundos also coordinates fundraisers for local projects.
Core Activities
EntreMundos is a non-profit organisation and charges no fees to participating organisations for our services. EntreMundos promotes positive social change in Guatemala. EntreMundos does this through the following principal activities:

EntreMundos provides a forum and information centre for organisations, communities, volunteers and citizens concerned with development and human rights.

EntreMundos publishes a bi-monthly, bilingual magazine (in Spanish and English), about development and human rights issues in Guatemala.

EntreMundos links volunteers to social, cultural and development projects across Guatemala, through maintaining an extensive online database of NGOs and projects, through daily drop-in sessions for volunteers seeking work, and by advertising current volunteer positions in its magazine.

EntreMundos provides regular capacity building support to our partner organisations in the form of information, links to resources and links to other organisations, as well as advice and support on their projects. EntreMundos helps with project development and access to funding resources, and the supply of volunteers.

EntreMundos regularly hosts events, talks and workshops for NGOs, volunteers and concerned citizens on different human rights and development issues in Guatemala.
Objectives
Publish a bimonthly and bilingual magazine featuring articles on political,social,environmental and cultural topics related to Guatemala.

Connect volunteers with social, cultural and development projects throughout Guatemala.

Provide capacity building workshops for local organisations to improve their capacity to organise, manage, plan and deliver their services and activities.

Provide a space for local organisations, volunteers and individuals interested in development to meet and network.
