EntreMundos Internship Programmes
While volunteers provide a very important resource and skill-set to organisations, some positions require more specialised skills and a more formal commitment. To meet this need, EntreMundos offers and coordinates a select number of Internships. These specialised positions are not only excellent learning and work experiences for the Interns, but are a major support to the organisations with which they are working.
The Internship Programmes run by EntreMundos are unpaid. Internships differ from volunteering because they involve a set, formalised job description, responsibilities uniquely assigned to the Intern, and a longer time period - EntreMundos Internships are a minimum time commitment of 3 months, full-time.
The Internship Programme requests a voluntary donation of USD$100 per month, which will be shared between the host organisation and EntreMundos. This includes the internship placement, pre-departure contact support, a pre-departure information package about Guatemala, contact support while in Guatemala, monthly and final work evaluations by the internship supervisor, a certificate of completion, and follow-up contact with EntreMundos afterwards. Additionally, we will strive to fulfil any bureaucratic functions we can, like filling in additional forms for universities, taking into account our capacities as a small, non-profit NGO. This fee does not include your flights, health/travel insurance and medical expenses, or living costs while here in Guatemala. Basic living expenses in Quetzaltenango are roughly USD$300 monthly.
