Internships in Guatemala
Some organisations look for specialized and skilled individuals to fill more professional roles; just as there are skilled individuals that are looking for formal experience with a Guatemalan organization. To bridge these needs, EntreMundos offers and coordinates a select number of internships.
The Internships run by EntreMundos are unpaid, but offer valuable learning and work experiences to the intern as well as important support to the host organization. Internships differ from volunteering because they involve a fixed, formalised job description, independent responsibilities assigned to the intern, a greater leadership role, and a longer commitment to the host organisation.
The Internship Programme requests a voluntary donation of USD$100 per month*, which is shared evenly between the host organisation and EntreMundos. This donation includes:
- The internship position
- Pre-departure contact support and information
- Contact support while in Guatemala
- Monthly and final work evaluations by the internship supervisor
- A certificate of completion
- Follow-up contact with EntreMundos afterwards
- Any beaurocratic functions that we can fulfill, taking into account our capacities as a small, non-profit NGO.
This donation does not include your flights, health/travel insurance and medical expenses, or living costs while here in Guatemala.
EntreMundos offers the internship placements described below. Please note each placement’s minimum time commitment, Spanish-language requirements, and any other requirements.
To apply, send your CV, a covering letter written in Spanish, and your completed Internship Application Form to volunteering@entremundos.org.
