Molly<br \/>\nhas been working for more than 6<br \/>\nmonths in the Maya Mam community<br \/>\nof San Mar tin Sacatep\u00e9quez.<br \/>\nUNODESMA, an umbrella organization<br \/>\nfor San Martin\u00b4s community<br \/>\nassociations, needed a volunteer<br \/>\nwith Advanced Spanish and English<br \/>\nlanguage skills, excellent writing<br \/>\nskills, and a motivation to learn the<br \/>\nprocess of international grant writing<br \/>\nwithout much direct supervision. In<br \/>\nMolly, they have received a volunteer<br \/>\nwho exceeds those requirements,<br \/>\nand brings many valuable personal<br \/>\nqualities to the position. Molly has<br \/>\ndemonstrated a willingness to<br \/>\nlearn, self-confidence and great<br \/>\ninterpersonal skills, and the ability<br \/>\nto lead a diverse group through<br \/>\nproblem-solving discussions. Using<br \/>\nher cultural understanding and<br \/>\nperseverance, Molly has worked<br \/>\ntowards revitalizing a community<br \/>\norganization. She assisted in the<br \/>\nformation of a sewing cooperative,<br \/>\nand collaborated on projects with<br \/>\nSan Martin-based Peace Corps<br \/>\nVolunteer Angela Prieto, Asociaci\u00f3n<br \/>\nde Mujeres del Altiplano (AMA),<br \/>\nSan Martin\u2019s dynamic non-profit<br \/>\nXela-AID, and has translated in local<br \/>\ndevelopment conferences. Molly also<br \/>\ntaught English at CEIPA in Salcaj\u00e1, a<br \/>\nschool for working children (ages<br \/>\n7-15) who aren\u2019t able to attend public<br \/>\nschool.
